Counting rules & sources
Both EAD dates and both employment dates are included. Weekends and holidays within a reported employment period remain covered. OPT jobs totaling at least 20 hours per week cover their overlapping dates. Report a new period whenever weekly hours change. STEM OPT jobs are assumed to be qualifying full-time employment. This calculator measures unemployment from your entries; it does not assess whether a job otherwise qualifies for OPT.
The full-period result includes future dates through the EAD end date. An ongoing job is projected through that date. Accrued days are calculated separately through today; future uncovered days are not described as already accrued. Days outside the entered authorization periods are not counted.
